Russian occupying forces are continuously learning, making it increasingly difficult for Ukrainian defenders to repel enemy assaults.
This was conveyed by Lieutenant Anton Shmagailo, commander of the first strike company of the "ACHILLES" battalion of strike UAVs, with the callsign "Bandera" in an interview with "Ukrainian Truth."
Firstly, according to the serviceman, the Russians are constantly improving the protection of their equipment, particularly focusing on electronic warfare systems, which significantly complicate the work for Ukrainian drone operators. For instance, while in April of this year, an average of 5-6 FPV drones were used to destroy one enemy tank, now more than 10 are needed.
Secondly, a serious challenge for the Armed Forces of Ukraine has become the Russian so-called "mangal" tanks or "turtles." Initially, the enemy only reinforced the turret of the tank, but now they completely cover their armored vehicles with additional metal plating on all sides.
Anton Shmagailo noted that such a "mangal" can be made in makeshift conditions, somewhere in Donetsk garages, but this protection is quite effective. If electronic warfare systems and mine rollers are added in front, the tank turns into a mobile fortress.
As the serviceman added, targeting enemy positions with FPV drones is becoming increasingly difficult, necessitating even more drones. Additionally, Ukrainian defenders are upgrading the frequencies used to control FPVs to counteract electronic warfare systems, as well as implementing the use of drones with guided targeting.
