Ukrainian military units attempted to make a breakthrough into the Belgorod region of Russia, coinciding with rapid Russian counterattacks in the Kursk region.
This is mentioned in a new report from the American Institute for the Study of War. According to their data, Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups infiltrated a wooded area in the west of Zhuravlevka but were unable to establish themselves in new positions. This attempt occurred near the international border, north of Kharkiv.
Simultaneously, Russian forces are conducting intense shelling of Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region, utilizing glide bombs. It is noted that over the past few days, Russian forces have dropped 34 cluster bombs on Ukrainian positions.
Analyzing the situation, ISW experts point to Russian counterattacks taking place on the western flank of the Ukrainian advance in the Kursk region. Russian troops have managed to advance south of Zeleny Put, engaging in combat near Korenevo and Lyubimovka. It is reported that Ukrainian forces are also counterattacking in the same areas, particularly southeast of Sudzhi.
Earlier, a Russian military blogger emphasized that hostilities are ongoing in the Glushkovsky district, where Russian troops are attempting to storm Ukrainian positions.
