In the Kursk region, the Russian occupying forces are utilizing both a significant amount of manpower and a considerable amount of equipment; however, on the Pokrovsk front, primarily infantry is engaged, and equipment is rarely deployed.

This was reported by military-political analyst Alexander Kovalenko from the "Information Resistance" group during an interview on the "FREEДОМ" channel.

"Pokrovsk is a primary target for them at the start of 2025. They are planning a large-scale offensive there, not only to demonstrate to Donald Trump ahead of his inauguration and after he assumes office as the 47th President of the United States that they can continue their offensive and seize territories, but also to negotiate with us on their terms," stated Alexander Kovalenko.

Moreover, the Russian command aims to drive Ukrainian forces out of the Kursk region by January 20, before Trump's inauguration, as this represents a key vulnerability in their potential negotiating position.
