The activation of Russian occupation troops in the Volchansk direction of the Kharkiv region is primarily linked to events in the Kursk region.
This was stated by Pavel Lakiychuk, the head of military security programs at the Globalist Center “Strategy XXI,” during an interview on the FREEДОМ channel.
According to the expert, in order to draw Ukrainian defenders away from the Kursk region and stretch their formations across a wide front, the Russians are attempting to intensify their actions north of Kharkiv in the Volchansk direction. Additionally, Russian occupation forces are trying to tactically infiltrate through the state border line of Ukraine into the Sumy region.
"All of this is aimed at weakening the Kursk grouping of our forces to push them out of the territory of the Russian Federation and, if possible, eliminate them. However, our command is obviously aware of this and is taking measures to neutralize such plans," Pavel Lakiychuk stated.
Earlier, it was reported that fighters from the 71st separate ranger brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine captured six occupiers in the Volchansk direction who attempted to land near the positions of the Defense Forces on an MT-LB and seize them, while also inflicting serious losses on the enemy using drones, artillery, and small arms.
