The situation in Donetsk region is currently extremely complex; we will have to withdraw from Kurakhovo, but that does not mean all is lost.
This was stated by military expert, retired Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergey Grabsky, during a broadcast on "Pryamyi".
"For instance, I can see the potential for organizing defense along the line of Velyka Novosilka-Constantinople-Andriivka-Pokrovsk. Perhaps, in the future – Konstantynivka-Chasiv Yar. We can hold the enemy at this section of the front," Sergey Grabsky declared.
The military expert emphasized that for Ukraine, losing territory is painful but not fatal, because retreating in conditions where we cannot resist, or when the enemy has created circumstances that pose a threat of encirclement, is the only correct solution.
According to the military expert, the combat action plan for 2024, declared in November-December 2023, included our strategic defense.
"And what we have accomplished this year goes beyond everything possible, because, despite the enemy having a 5-10 times advantage in some areas, we maintained control over the situation. Even though we are forced to withdraw, we did not allow an operational breakthrough of the front, and these are not my words; they are the words of General Zaluzhnyi," Sergey Grabsky added.
