The Economist reported that Russia has assembled 130,000 troops for an attack on Zaporizhzhia, and this is indeed possible.
Military expert and retired colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergey Grabsky, elaborated on this in an interview with Angelika Pychyk.
"I fully assume that they plan to do something there. I have no doubt that they have a plan to capture Zaporizhzhia; for them, it is a strategic objective to advance in the Zaporizhzhia region, because without this, their further war strategy loses its meaning," Sergey Grabsky stated.
Moreover, according to the military expert, the main question for the Russians is whether they can achieve this.
"Because let me refer to General Zaluzhny's article, where he mentioned that the war has entered a technological deadlock, so to speak, where neither side can gain any advantage, due to the saturation of reconnaissance means of all types, including ground and aerial drones, and according to maritime operational theaters, it excludes the possibility of a sudden or rapid concentration of serious strike groups at any section of the front," explained Sergey Grabsky.
The military expert added that such a buildup of strike groups would lead to a massive attack on these groups, resulting in significant destruction of equipment.
