Currently, intense combat operations are ongoing in the Kursk region, which are significantly different from those taking place on other fronts.
This was stated by military-civilian analyst, ATO veteran, and former commander of the "Aidar" battalion's assault company, Yevhen Diky, during a broadcast on Radio NV.
According to the military expert, the Kursk direction is now the only section of the front where dynamic maneuver warfare is occurring, rather than trench warfare. Therefore, there is no clear front line in Kursk, and tracking it is pointless, as both the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the Russian occupying troops are constantly moving.
Yevhen Diky noted that the Russians are continually trying to advance, and sometimes the Armed Forces of Ukraine allow them to do so, only to then strike the enemy from the flanks and attack from the rear.
"In other words, it is a maneuver warfare situation, similar to what was seen in Kyiv or Chernihiv at the beginning of 2022. It is very unfortunate that this is only possible there, where the forested landscape allows for such tactics," said Yevhen Diky.
The military expert added that in maneuver warfare, Ukrainian defenders have many advantages over the Russians. In trench warfare, numerical superiority is usually decisive, while in maneuver warfare, it can be offset by better management and planning of military operations.
