The situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains critical, yet Ukrainian forces have managed to halt the advance of Russian occupiers.
This was reported by Vitaliy, an officer of the 68th Separate Mountain Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbusha, during a telethon. He added that the intensity of enemy attacks has not diminished.
"In the Pokrovsk direction, the intensity has not decreased at all. We have simply managed to stop the enemy's advance. The enemy continues to attempt to storm our positions," Vitaliy stated.
According to him, Russian troops are actively using armored vehicles in an effort to break into Pokrovsk. For this purpose, the occupiers are deploying up to 30 soldiers in each attack and have started to use light transport vehicles, such as buggies and motorcycles, more frequently to quickly deliver their troops to the front line.
However, the officer noted that this tactic is not yielding the desired results. Ukrainian forces are actively destroying the enemy even before they reach the front, utilizing artillery, FPV drones, and munitions drops.
Furthermore, the military emphasized that the situation has improved due to Ukraine receiving modern F-16 aircraft. Previously, Russian aviation could operate directly on the front lines, striking Ukrainian positions, but now the situation has drastically changed.
"The enemy was able to carry out such maneuvers when Ukraine had not yet received F-16s. Based on my own observations, and not just mine, I can say that now the enemy uses aviation only deep in their rear. They can launch missiles and guided bombs here, but they do not approach the front line due to the fear of losing their aircraft," he added.
