Ukrposhta announced this in their Telegram.
“In 1991, after numerous Soviet prohibitions and attempts to erase the tradition and its memory, the words rang out in Sofiivska Square in Kyiv: A new joy has come that has never been before, A bright star shone over the manger — as stated by Ukrposhta. — At that time, the Ukrainian carol spread across its land for its people, bringing back Christmas. And now, during the greatest war on the continent with the same enemy as a century ago, thanks to the Defense Forces, Christmas will also come to our homes.”
The new stamps feature a cut-out illustration depicting the traditions of the holiday: girls with the Bethlehem star singing carols, the Magi bringing gifts, costumed performers going from house to house with the “Goat,” while Ukrainian warriors defend our freedom, our celebrations, and our customs.
