What information will be available?
From now on, users can see:
- whether a contact is in their list;
- the country where the phone number is registered;
- the month and year the account was created;
- a list and count of shared groups;
- the account verification status.
Back in July 2024, the founder of the messenger, Pavel Durov, announced similar changes. He also noted that Telegram, under the new rules, may provide IP addresses and phone numbers of users to government authorities upon request.
