Differences Between XRP and Other Cryptocurrencies
XRP is the native cryptocurrency of Ripple, a blockchain ledger that serves as a cheaper, faster, and more secure alternative to the widely-used SWIFT protocol for money transfers. Several smaller financial institutions, including Travelex Bank, Tranglo, and Sentbe, utilize Ripple's XCurrent network for their money transfers.
However, rather than gradually adopting the XRP token for payments, most of these financial clients use XCurrent solely for transferring fiat currencies. This is why XRP has not gained the same level of popularity as other cryptocurrencies.
