Credit Transfers Dominate
In Ukraine, services for executing payment transactions initiated through credit transfers and direct debits were provided to the population and businesses by 62 banks and two non-bank financial institutions in 2024.
Throughout 2024, they carried out 1.7 million payment transactions initiated via direct debit, totaling 31.20 billion UAH.
Payment operations initiated through credit transfers are more prevalent. Last year, they were executed as follows:
- within Ukraine — 3,619.6 million transactions amounting to over 43,115.15 billion UAH;
- to Ukraine — 5.7 million transactions totaling $69.27 billion equivalent;
- from Ukraine — 1.4 million transactions totaling $77.06 billion equivalent.
Transactions within Ukraine
In 2024, the highest number of payment transactions within Ukraine initiated through credit transfers was executed from personal accounts: 3,101.5 million, or 85.7% of the total number of such payment transactions.
At the same time, in terms of amount, the largest number of these payment transactions was carried out from business accounts: 39,260.91 billion UAH, or 91.1% of the total amount.
