The CETU division, led by Laura Dallard, will replace the division focused on crypto assets and cyber technologies. It will consist of approximately 30 specialists and attorneys from various SEC offices dedicated to combating fraud.
“Under Laura's leadership, this new division will complement the work of the cryptocurrency task force led by Commissioner Hester Peirce. It is important that the new division will also allow the SEC to allocate law enforcement resources wisely,” said Acting Chair of the Commission Mark Uyeda. “The division will not only protect investors but also foster capital formation and enhance market efficiency, clearing the way for innovation to thrive. It will root out those who attempt to exploit innovations to harm investors and undermine trust in new technologies.”
