The year 2024 is coming to a close, along with the timelines for certain price predictions for Bitcoin (BTC) from well-known figures and companies in the crypto industry. As new reports emerge with price forecasts and expectations for 2025, it is essential to analyze how well previous predictions have fared.
Some experts and market analysts anticipated that by the end of the year, the price of BTC would rise significantly above $100,000, while others underestimated the potential impact of the current "bull season" and predicted that the leading cryptocurrency would remain below $100,000. Nevertheless, in December, BTC reached a new high of $108,200.
While some crypto experts missed the mark with their predictions, others were only slightly off target.
In October 2023, Arthur Hayes, co-founder of the cryptocurrency exchange and derivatives trading platform BitMEX and founder of the family office Maelstrom Fund, forecasted that BTC would end 2024 at around $70,000, based on several economic factors. He also stated that by 2026, BTC would be valued between $750,000 and $1 million, as financial assets experience an unprecedented boom.
