The fund is focused on financing startups in the fields of artificial intelligence, semiconductor production, and cloud technologies, but is open to considering projects from other industries as well.
The total volume of the fund is $150 million, with $100 million coming from the Vingroup portfolio, and $50 million planned for investment over the next 3-5 years.
The VinVentures investment fund aims to support early-stage startups, particularly at the Seed (initial) and Series A (expansion) stages. The fund prioritizes supporting companies with founders of Vietnamese descent that operate in the fields of artificial intelligence, semiconductors, cloud technologies, and other innovative sectors. At the same time, the fund remains open to investing in startups from other industries if they demonstrate high growth potential.
VinVentures also plans to expand its presence in markets such as Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines due to their similar market conditions to Vietnam.
To attract funding from VinVentures, a startup must meet several important criteria: rapid growth, commercial potential of the product, scalability of the technology, and the presence of an experienced team. The fund becomes a shareholder in the companies it invests in, with the aim of generating profit from its investments.
