Sergiy Tigipko's TAS Group is acquiring Idea Bank, with the necessary documents already submitted to the National Bank of Ukraine.

Группа «ТАС» Сергея Тигипко завершила сделку по покупке Идея Банка, все необходимые документы уже поданы в НБУ.

“The National Bank of Ukraine has received from Sergey Tigipko the relevant package of documents regarding the approval of the acquisition of a significant stake, which is currently being processed within the licensing procedures in accordance with the legislation and regulations of the NBU,” the regulator informed in response to a request from the agency “Interfax-Ukraine.”

In February 2022, Getin Holding was unable to sell Idea Bank. The agreement signed on November 10, 2021, for the sale of 100% of the financial institution's shares to the First Ukrainian International Bank (PUMB) of Rinat Akhmetov was terminated due to the failure to meet all conditions for the transfer of ownership by February 25. Following this, Getin Holding withdrew from the sale of its Ukrainian subsidiary bank amid the war.

On March 27, 2023, the National Bank of Ukraine deemed the business reputation of the Polish holding and its main owner Leszek Czarnecki to be less than impeccable. As a result, the regulator temporarily stripped Getin Holding of its voting rights over 100% of Idea Bank's shares, requiring the holding and Czarnecki to rectify the violations within a year. However, after a year, the NBU refused to restore the voting rights. Additionally, the regulator approved the appointment of Jacek Pechota, president of the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, as the trustee of Idea Bank.
