The decision of the National Commission for State Regulation of Communications and Informatization (NKEK) dated February 12, 2025, No. 77 has incorporated the European regulation on small cells into Ukrainian legislation. This is stated in a notice from the regulator on Facebook.
Small cell base stations are low-power radio equipment designed to cover small areas. This type of radio equipment can be installed indoors or outdoors.
Small cells provide high-quality and secure mobile communication coverage both indoors and in open spaces. They complement the operator's network by enhancing coverage, adding targeted capacity, and supporting the introduction of new services and improved user interaction.
