No matter how closely we monitor the situation in the East, the southern direction is critically important and necessary for conducting our subsequent military operations.

This was stated by military expert, retired Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergey Grabsky in an interview with Politeka Online.

"The state of affairs in the South will determine the continuation of this war and how it will develop, so the enemy needs to create strike groups to advance further," said Sergey Grabsky.

According to the military expert, it is unlikely that the occupiers will manage to cross to the right bank of the Dnipro near Kherson, but Zaporizhzhia is the area where the enemy may cross to the right bank if they make serious efforts.

"We cannot rule out the possibility that the enemy may attempt to create a strike group in the future. Currently, we do not observe the formation of such offensive strike groups, but this does not exclude the likelihood of tactical actions," explained Sergey Grabsky.

The military expert reminded that the Robotynske area poses a potential threat to the Russian grouping conducting military operations in the South.

If Ukrainian forces can break through to the South and cut the railway leading to Crimea, the situation in Crimea and the South will shift in favor of the Ukrainian troops. Therefore, it is essential to understand that the enemy will do everything possible to initially stabilize the front line, eliminate the Robotynske pocket, and if they have enough strength, they will attempt to build up their grouping and break through to Zaporizhzhia.
