Today, Ukraine is actively developing augmented reality technologies, contactless payment methods, virtual platforms for employee training, tools for managing remote teams and stores, automation techniques for collecting and analyzing customer experiences, as well as technologies for studying offline audiences.
Among the speakers at the forum were Andrey Mokryakov, senior consultant at Pro-Consulting, Irina Zabolotnaya, head of the Diia implementation team at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Alexey Miropolsky, commercial director of RozetkaPay, Alla Petrychenko, founder of the Ukrainian platform for creating online stores Shop-Express, and many others.
Experts introduced participants to the latest global technological solutions, shared insights on the experiences of Ukrainian retailers, and discussed the implementation of various IT products in this field. Journalists from PaySpace Magazine also attended the event, and below are the most interesting outcomes from our report.
Main Challenges and Trends in Retail
Among the primary issues facing Ukrainian retail in 2024 are a shortage of personnel, a 5% decrease in average salaries compared to pre-war levels (in dollar equivalents), a 19% decline in population, and a 40% rise in prices due to inflation. These points were highlighted by Andrey Mokryakov, senior consultant at Pro-Consulting.
“We understand that retail is so important for the Ukrainian economy that it accounts for more than half of the population's income. This affects well-being on one hand, and on the other — the level of competitiveness that exists in the industry today,” notes Mokryakov.
