Oleg Popenko reported this on his Facebook page, as conveyed by focus.ua.
According to the expert, electricity rates for households may increase from the current 4.32 UAH to 6.7 UAH per 1 kWh as early as the beginning of summer. He noted that this decision is supported by government bodies, particularly the Ministry of Energy and NAEC "Energoatom." This is justified by the need to establish market prices that reflect the costs of electricity production.
Popenko predicts that starting June 1, 2025, the tariff will be 6.68 UAH per 1 kWh, and in 2-3 years, it could rise to 9 UAH.
“Last year, prices of 6.5-7 UAH per kWh were mentioned, and the immediate plans are to raise prices to that level. However, this figure was the market price or the price on the day-ahead market in 2023, and today it is already over 9 UAH, so I am confident that starting June 1, the electricity tariff will increase to 6.68 UAH. In just 2-3 years, the tariff will rise to 9 UAH,” the forecast states.
