It is noted that retirement is possible not only at 60 years old. A pension can be granted at 63 years if the individual has 10 years less experience than required for retirement at 60. This requirement will also gradually increase until it reaches 25 years by 2028.
To retire at 65, one only needs to have 15 years of experience — this requirement remains unchanged. If a person has not accumulated the minimum work experience by the age of 65, a pension will not be granted. In such a case, special financial assistance can be received. The amount of this assistance is determined as the difference between the minimum subsistence level for individuals who have lost their ability to work and the average total income of the family over the previous six months.
The amount of this assistance cannot exceed the subsistence minimum for individuals without work capacity, which in 2025 remains at 2361 UAH due to frozen social standards.
The minimum pension age for women and men in Ukraine is still the same — 60 years. However, for women, this age has been gradually increasing, and only since 2021 have they started retiring at 60 years old.
