The Ukrainian army requires 500,000 new servicemen for reinforcement. This was reported by Taras Chmut, head of the "Come Back Alive" foundation, as conveyed by UNN.

Chmut pointed out that currently, the level of personnel in military units is significantly below what is necessary, especially in infantry units. According to him, while the number of brigades may appear larger on paper, in reality, the staffing, particularly in infantry companies, often does not exceed 15-25 individuals, which considerably diminishes the combat effectiveness of these units.
In Chmut's opinion, claims about the need to mobilize 160,000 people do not reflect reality, as even these numbers would not ensure adequate defense capabilities for the country. To effectively deter the aggressor and strengthen defense, he argues that significantly more is needed—around 500,000 new conscripts.
