The Tax Service conducted 5,483 documentary audits of individual entrepreneurs this year. This represents a 26% decrease compared to the same period last year. In 2021, a record 31,178 documentary audits were carried out, averaging 2,600 audits per month. In contrast, this year, the monthly average has dropped to 600 audits.
Despite the reduction in the number of audits, the total amount of fines in 2024 has increased by 5.7 times compared to the same period last year. However, entrepreneurs are successfully challenging some of these decisions, with the rate of successful appeals doubling.
This year, as a result of tax audits, an additional 2.33 billion UAH was assessed, but after appeals, this amount was reduced to 1.06 billion UAH. In comparison, last year, entrepreneurs managed to contest only a third of the assessed amounts.
