The Verkhovna Rada has adopted in full Bill No. 11407, which pertains to financial support for military personnel who are captured, taken hostage, or interned in neutral countries, as well as those who are missing in action. They will continue to receive state assistance payments.
One of the key innovations is that military personnel can now independently designate family members or individuals who will receive payments in the event of their disappearance or capture.
Once the law comes into effect, servicemen will have the right to create a written directive in any form for the case of their capture, internment in neutral countries, or disappearance, specifying the payment of their entitled financial support to a person (or persons) of their choice, determining the percentage share for each designated individual.
