Starting next month, all legal incomes of Ukrainians will decrease as the military tax will rise from 1.5% to 5%. This applies to salaries, bank deposits, and other official sources of income.
Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation, and Customs Policy, MP Nina Yuzhanina, stated that the increase in the military tax rate will be felt by all citizens earning legally. For instance, with a salary of 10,000 UAH, the contributions to the budget will now be 500 UAH instead of 150 UAH. The same applies to deposits.
“Absolutely, all incomes that you legally receive anywhere — whether as an employee or accrued interest on bank deposits — will be taxed at the military tax rate of not 1.5%, but 5%,” Yuzhanina explained.
