A man entered a Silpo store and took six packs of butter for 339 hryvnias. He hid the goods in the pockets of his jacket and disposed of the stolen items at his discretion. This is stated in the ruling of the Sykhiv District Court of Lviv, published on February 1, 2024.
On June 13, 2023, the man took six packs of butter branded “Farm Fresh Krystyanske SliVochne 73%” from the shelf in the Silpo store and concealed them in his jacket pockets. He exited the premises without making payment and subsequently used the stolen property as he saw fit. As a result of his unlawful actions, the accused caused material damage to the victim, LLC "Silpo-Food," totaling 339 hryvnias.
During the court hearing, the man admitted his guilt. He stated that on June 13, 2023, he secretly stole six packs of butter from the Silpo store. He expressed remorse for his actions and requested the court not to impose a harsh penalty.
The court found the man guilty of committing a criminal offense under part 4 of article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to five years of imprisonment. Based on article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he was released from serving his sentence on probation, with a probation period of one year. According to article 76 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the following obligations were imposed on him: to periodically appear for registration at the authorized probation authority; to inform the authorized probation authority of any changes in his residence or employment.
