In November, the volume of private money transfers decreased by 18%, totaling $0.8 billion. Specifically, wages received by Ukrainians from abroad dropped by 22.2%. Other private transfers received through official channels also fell by 17.1%.
Overall, the volume of transfers through official channels declined by 19.5% compared to November 2023. The flow of transfers through informal channels decreased by 16.0%.
From January to November 2024, the total volume of money transfers fell by 15.0%. Net wages decreased by 27.5%, while private transfers increased by 9.7%.
The NBU also notes that the net increase in the external position of the real sector (excluding direct foreign investments) amounted to $0.7 billion. This was supported by an increase in the volume of cash currency outside banks by $1.6 billion (compared to $1.0 billion in November 2023), which was partially offset by a reduction in trade credit debt by $0.7 billion.
