On January 5, media reports emerged indicating that Ukrainian forces had initiated new offensive actions in the Kursk region.

Military-political analyst from the "Information Resistance" group, Alexander Kovalenko, shared insights about the current situation in Kursk on his Telegram channel here.

According to the military expert, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, visited the Kursk region recently, evidently not just to award our troops. It is also significant that the Commander-in-Chief revealed the losses of the Russian occupation forces during our operation in the Kursk region—over 38,000 personnel.

"As of today, the Kursk grouping consists of 50,000 to 55,000 personnel. Therefore, taking into account the losses of 38,000 and the current composition, along with the fact that in August the 'Kursk' grouping was around 10,000 to 12,000 personnel, the command has allocated and engaged resources exceeding 83,000 personnel in the region," stated Alexander Kovalenko.

Thus, according to the military analyst, the losses reported by Syrsky can be compared with the maximum possible reinforcement of the grouping at 43,000 to 45,000 personnel, and even considering reinforcements in the form of North Korean soldiers, the potential of the enemy's 'Kursk' troop grouping is quite weak.
