The new project, which we previously reported on, involves providing subsidies to resettlers for covering rental housing costs. It is expected to be in effect for the next two years.
This was announced by the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, via Telegram following a Cabinet meeting.
It is stipulated that the provision of subsidies will only be possible if a contract is signed between the tenant and the landlord, which must be registered in the database of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU). The exact start date for this pilot project has not been specified.
The program is aimed at residents of the settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Kherson regions, excluding those areas that are listed as having ongoing (or previously ongoing) hostilities or are temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation.
