Previously, all students with IDP status received such financial support until the completion of their studies, but not longer than until the age of 23.
However, according to the recently adopted changes, the right to a social scholarship will be retained only for two categories of students who are internally displaced persons:
- those who left regions where hostilities or temporary occupation are ongoing, and the end date is not determined;
- those whose housing has been destroyed or seriously damaged due to hostilities, terrorist attacks, or diversions caused by Russia's military aggression.
Currently, the amount of the social scholarship is 890 hryvnias.
According to the resolution, first-year students are automatically assigned the social scholarship until the first semester control, regardless of the competitive score received upon admission and academic performance ranking.
Subsequently, starting from the second semester, the social scholarship is granted only to those students who have successfully completed the academic semester, have no academic debts, unsatisfactory grades, and are included in the academic performance ranking.
