By 2025, Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup, which will include the iPhone 17 Air, designed to replace the Plus model that has seen the lowest sales. This new device will be the thinnest smartphone ever produced by the company and will support only eSIM technology. This decision, aimed at simplifying the user experience, is currently undergoing extensive testing.
Preliminary information suggests that the iPhone 17 Air will be even thinner, than previously announced: prototypes measure only 5-6 mm in thickness. Additionally, the absence of a SIM card slot is not the only consequence of this design. Apple engineers will also have to forgo a second speaker, which is standard in other models, in order to maintain battery capacity.
