This was announced by Dmitry Lashin, the operational director of Lavina Mall and Blockbuster Mall, in a comment to “Interfax-Ukraine”.
“There is very encouraging information that this will definitely happen this year, but there are two scenarios. The first is that hostilities in Ukraine will cease, in which case it will happen very, very quickly. If the fighting does not stop, the opening will take a bit longer. They are already physically ready,” said Lashin.
Currently, the retailer is conducting daily updates of retail spaces: cleaning, local repairs, sign replacements, and removal of leftover merchandise are underway.
Oksana Donskaya, a board member of the Ukrainian Furniture Association (UAM), previously stated that IKEA has already placed an order for a wide range of furniture from Ukrainian manufacturers.
