In Chrome for iOS, users could already utilize Google Lens to search for images on their iPhone or from the camera, but now they can add words to refine their search.
For instance, a user can upload a photo of a t-shirt design they like to Lens and enter the name of the color they prefer, and Lens will attempt to find the desired t-shirt. This update comes after Apple launched its own visual intelligence search, which only works on the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro.
The new iOS Chrome also allows users to save images and files (such as PDFs) from the internet directly to Google Photos and Google Drive, enabling quick access to them elsewhere without taking up local storage on the iPhone. This can be particularly useful for those who have already filled their 5 GB of free iCloud storage from Apple or who prefer to use Google Drive.
