The feature was first noticed in a test build on the Chrome Canary channel by user X Leopeva64. In the new section "AI Innovations," a settings menu titled "Automatic Password Change" has appeared, which states:
"If Chrome detects that one of your passwords has been compromised, it will suggest a replacement and add it to the Google Password Manager."
This development is a response from the company to the fact that password compromises have become a widespread and, unfortunately, common occurrence today. Cybercriminals aim to obtain your password to gain access to accounts, exploit confidential information, and ultimately profit from it.
Whether it's phishing attacks, malware, hardware hacking, or even physical access to your device, your password is always at risk. This is why most cybersecurity experts recommend using password managers to create more secure credentials and store them safely. Google is no exception: the Chrome Password Manager is available to 3.5 billion users.
