OLX Work analyzed the job market in 2024 — examining which fields and industries saw the highest salary increases, the earnings for various population categories, and key insights from the recruitment process in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The average salary in Ukraine at the end of 2024 reached 20,000 UAH ($480), marking a 12.5% increase over the year. This surpassed the annual inflation rate, which, according to state statistics, was 11.2%. Since 2021, salaries in hryvnias have risen by 13%, but in dollars, they have decreased by 25% due to currency fluctuations.
The number of job vacancies on the OLX Work portal increased by 6% in 2024 compared to 2023, while the number of responses grew by 4%. Different cities exhibited varying trends: in Lviv, the number of vacancies decreased by 10%, while responses increased by 11%; in Kyiv, vacancies rose by 19%, but responses fell by 6%. Dnipro saw growth in both metrics.
Remote work is gaining popularity: the number of vacancies in this segment grew by 31%, and the median salary reached 19,100 UAH, which is 16% higher than before. At the same time, demand for such vacancies has slightly decreased — by 3%.
