With the new scanner, users can find out in advance through Diia whether cashback is available for a product. There's no need to ask supermarket cashiers or look for a mark on the packaging, reported Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov on Telegram.
To use the tool, simply open Diia and point the scanner at the product's barcode. The app will then inform you if cashback will be applied. The decision is then up to the buyer—whether to choose that product or another.
Beta testing of the "National Cashback" program lasted over a month, resulting in the official launch announcement. During this period, the Ministry of Digital Transformation collected feedback and tested how the service operates, while also adding new features, which they continue to do.
