Despite the full-scale invasion by Russia, Ukraine's tech sector is demonstrating remarkable resilience and unity. With over 300,000 highly skilled professionals and around 5,000 players, the industry is one of the key components of the country's economy, as stated in a press release provided by PaySpace Magazine.

“The Ministry of Digital Transformation has outlined a new mission — to build a convenient digital state for citizens and the tech business. Ukraine is not just a country with services available in a few clicks; it is also a nation where innovation and the IT sector play a significant role in the economy. This is our path to a higher GDP and the development of innovations. The Government's task is to create all conditions for technological development, attract investments, establish international partnerships, and build a brand of a technological country in the world,” says Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science, and Technology of Ukraine and Minister of Digital Transformation.

A Ukrainian delegation at the Web Summit in Lisbon will feature 24 startups from various fields, ranging from cleantech and energy to AI and healthcare.

“The Ukrainian startup ecosystem, which includes more than 2,600 startups, is rapidly growing and confidently asserting itself on the international stage. Seventy-two percent of IT companies are creating products that are used worldwide, highlighting our global competitiveness. This is why, together with our partners, we are actively working to expand opportunities for Ukrainian startups to present their innovations at leading tech exhibitions. This provides a significant boost for attracting investments, forming strategic partnerships, and entering international markets,” notes Natalia Kusheretskaya, acting director of the Innovation Development Fund.
