Thus, one of the largest sanctioned Russian dry cargo ships of the RF Ministry of Defense has been destroyed in the Mediterranean Sea.
Unknown individuals have begun the destruction of the Russian fleet in the world's oceans.
The company "Oboronlogistika," operating for the RF Ministry of Defense, announced details regarding the destruction of one of the largest and most modern Ro-Ro cargo ships, Ursa Major.
Since 2022, the vessel has been under U.S. sanctions for its involvement in aggression against Ukraine, and its crew consists of citizens of the Russian Federation.
Ursa Major was transporting two mobile portal cranes manufactured by the German company Liebherr 420 on its deck.
"Russia does not manufacture such cranes, cannot repurchase them in Europe due to sanctions, and cannot quickly buy them anywhere else, so they had to be transferred from Europe to the Far East," reported Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov.
It has been reported that on December 23, near Spain in the Mediterranean Sea, at 13:50, three explosions occurred on the starboard side at the stern of the vessel.
The Russian sailors abandoned the ship, leaving two comrades on board who could be found, and by 23:22, Ursa Major sank 70 miles south of Cartagena, Spain.
Based on this, Russian vessels and cargo on Russian ships will not feel safe in the world's oceans.
"These are the most effective sanctions against Russian maritime trade that have been applied since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the RF," added Butusov.
