Ukrainian forces captured a North Korean soldier in the Kursk region, according to South Korean intelligence.

The intelligence of South Korea has confirmed reports regarding the capture of an injured North Korean soldier by Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region. The day before, relevant information about the capture of the DPRK fighter appeared on Ukrainian media resources. This was reported by UNN citing the Yonhap News Agency.

The largest South Korean news agency disseminated a statement from the Republic of Korea’s intelligence on Friday, December 27, confirming that the injured North Korean soldier was taken alive.

It is noted that the evening before, on December 26, messages accompanied by a photograph were released online, indicating that the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine likely captured the first North Korean soldier sent to fight on the side of Russia.

According to Yonhap News Agency, judging by media reports, this North Korean "warrior" likely sustained injuries. However, detailed information regarding his condition has not been specified.
