A Russian woman flew illegally from New York to Paris without a ticket or passport.

Россиянка без билета и паспорта нелегально перелетела из Нью-Йорка в Париж.

A 50-year-old Russian citizen illegally boarded a Delta Airlines flight from New York to Paris, traveling without a ticket and valid documents. This was reported by Le Figaro, as per UNN.

Details

Upon arrival at Charles de Gaulle Airport, the woman was detained by border police, who discovered she lacked travel documents. She was placed in a waiting area, from where plans were made to deport her back to the United States, where she holds a residence permit.

The woman explained that her journey was an attempt to escape persecution. She claimed to have been a victim of polonium poisoning by Russian security services with the involvement of American agents. The incident raises questions about airport security, as the woman took advantage of the crowd of passengers to board the plane unnoticed. During the flight, she hid in the restroom, where she remained for six hours until flight attendants found her before landing.

During questioning, it was revealed that the woman possesses an expired U.S. "green card," which still grants her the right to return to the States. Her Russian passport is also invalid, and her residence permit in Europe expired in 2022. French authorities planned her deportation for November 30; however, the woman refused to board the plane without police escort. Her case is currently under review by a court specializing in freedom matters, which will decide on her continued detention.
