Residents of the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region, who do not obtain a Russian passport, are set to be deported as foreigners. This was reported by the Berdyansk City Military Administration (BCMA) on its Telegram channel, as conveyed by UNN.
Details
It is noted that starting from January 1, 2025, foreigners will be allowed to stay in Russia without a visa for no more than 90 days. Consequently, residents of the Zaporizhzhia region who do not possess Russian passports may be treated as foreign residents.
The BCMA added that in practice, this means that the occupiers are using the new residency rules as a means of pressure to compel the local population to obtain Russian documents.
